FAIR GROUNDS RACE COURSE HOSTS COVID-19 VACCINE EVENT
NEW ORLEANS, LA (April 1st, 2021) – Fair Grounds Race Course & Slots (“Fair Grounds”) announced today they are continuing the commitment to provide a safe work environment for its employees by making the COVID-19 vaccine available to all team members.
Fair Grounds has partnered with Passport Health to provide vaccines to team members as conveniently as possible. Passport Health was on-site at Fair Grounds on Tuesday, March 30th to administer the first dose of the vaccine and will return on April 27th to administer the second dose. Over 60 team members took advantage of the offer and received their first shot.
Fair Grounds President Doug Shipley said, “Nothing is more important than the health, safety and well-being of our team members and we are thankful to Passport Health for partnering with us. We wanted this process to be as simple as possible for our essential workers who have worked hard since the pandemic started to deliver the same high level of service our guests are accustomed to, while also complying with required safety measures. While we are subject to capacity restrictions that have reduced the number of enthusiastic race fans we are able to host, we continue to focus on safety and very much look forward to a time when we are able to resume operations at full capacity when it is reasonable to do so.”
