Mardi Gras Day Racing Feb. 16 Fair Grounds Race Course & Slots has racing on Mardi Gras day, Tuesday, Feb 16. First post is 1:10 p.m. CST for a program highlighted by the 66th running of the Mardi Gras Stakes.
Night Racing Feb. 19 Starlight Racing returns February 19th. This monthly night racing program is set for Friday, Feb. 19, with a first post of 5 p.m. Join us for racing under the lights with live music and other promotions throughout the facility. Louisiana Derby Preview Day Feb. 20 The Road to the Louisiana Derby continues with the Grade II, $300,000 Risen Star Stakes for 3-year-olds looking to punch their tickets to Louisville on the first Saturday in May. Five other stakes races-three of which are graded-complement the Risen Star: the Grade III Silverbulletday Stakes, the next stop on the Road to the Oaks for 3-year-old fillies; the Grade III Mineshaft Handicap for older horses; the Grade III Fair Grounds Handicap, for older turf horses; the Colonel Power, a turf sprint; and the Pan Zareta, for female sprinters.
