Bohemian Headlines $100,000 Allen “Black Cat” LaCombe Memorial Stakes

NEW ORLEANS (March 1, 2026) – Led by Carl R. Moore Management’s Bohemian, a field of 11 3-year-old fillies signed on for Saturday’s $100,000 Allen “Black Cat” LaCombe Memorial Stakes at Fair Grounds Race Course & Slots.

Facing males in January’s Texas Turf Mile at Sam Houston Park, Bohemian finished second by the slimmest of margins. Prior to that, the Joe Sharp trainee rattled off two wins, one local allowance victory and her maiden score at Churchill Downs, both at one mile. Tabbed as the 7-2 morning line favorite, the gray filly by Essential Quality drew the rail and will be reunited with Ben Curtis.

Top among her competitors is Magic Cap Stables and Parkland Thoroughbreds’ Aggressive Lime, who exits a respectable fifth-place finish behind the sensational Sister Troienne in the Sweetest Chant at Gulfstream Park. Marcelino Pedroza Jr. gets the call.

Brendan Walsh has a pair of fillies entered, led by Indigo Woods, an Irish-bred who won her debut going two turns at Churchill Downs, as well as Ontology, who exits a local maiden-breaking score.

The LaCombe is slated as Race 9 on Saturday’s 10-race program, first post is 12:45 p.m. CT.

Live racing at Fair Grounds resumes Thursday, March 5, the first of a five-day race week that concludes Monday, March 9. First post throughout the week is 12:45 p.m. CT.
