Quest For Success Succeeds in Thursday Feature

NEW ORLEANS (Thursday, December 6, 2012) – Ywachetta and James Driver’s Quest for Success, away fastest, alternated for the early lead with splits of 22.76 and 46.30, drew clear briefly and then held on to withstand the late rallies of Ron Groene’s Snow Kissed and Glen Warren’s Glitzi’s Finale by a half-length in Thursday’s $49,000 headliner at Fair Grounds Race Course & Slots, an allowance $40,000 optional claiming event for fillies and mares that was transferred to the main track and contested at 5 1/2-furlongs.

Ridden by Brian Hernandez Jr. and trained by Cody Autrey, Quest for Success accomplished a final time of 1:05.12, returned mutuels of $12.60, $5 and $4.40 and increased her career earnings to $128,284 with her fifth victory in 18 lifetime starts.

Snow Kissed paid $3.80 and $2.80 for the place while finishing a nose to the good of Glitzi’s Finale, who returned $6.80 in the show spot.

Racing resumes Friday at Fair Grounds with a 10-race program beginning at 12:40 p.m.
