Blue Runner World Red Beans & Rice Eating Championship

Red beans and rice has been a staple of Louisiana Creole cuisine for hundreds of years, but it has never been eaten with the speed and passion that will be on display at the upcoming Blue Runner Foods World Red Beans and Rice Eating Championship. Set to take place at the Fair Grounds Race Course & Slots in New Orleans on Saturday, February 8th, the event will feature Joey Chestnut, the top-ranked competitive eater in the world competing against Geoffrey Esper, second-raked competitive eater in the world, among other Major League Eating star competitors. Organizers will prepare more than 1,000 pounds of Blue Runner Foods Red Beans and Rice for the competition, which will be Major League Eating’s first sanctioned event of 2020. The Blue Runner Foods Red Beans and Rice Eating World Championship will take place on Saturday, February 8th, 2020, at the grandstands of The Fair Grounds Race Course at 1751 Gentilly Blvd. in New Orleans. Doors will open at 11am with the first thoroughbred race taking place at 12:30pm. Contest Introductions will take place at 3pm and the competition will occur at 3:30pm. There is no admission charge and Blue Runner Foods will be providing a free bowl of Red Beans and Rice to all attendees.
