Brisnet Trainer Stats

The Brisnet Ultimate Past Performances contain some of the most detailed trainers statistic found anywhere including sample size, win and in the money percentages and ROI. A few examples can be seen over the next two days.

Thursday, Arlington Race 1. Christine Janks, who is having a solid meet winning at 23 percent, saddles Chuffed who has won twice in the past at six furlongs but is winless in four tries at today's six and a half furlong trip. Perhaps in an effort to increase Chuffed's stamina, he was entered in a mile event last time out in which he faded to finish fourth. Janks has used this strategy before and indeed the Ultimate Past Performance "Sprint-Route-Sprint" stat shows a high 41 percent win rate, with an outstanding ROI of +$4.04.

Thursday, Arlington Race 2. Rattlin Gypsy is a first-time starter saddled by the under -the- radar trainer John Good who has saddled five winners from 16 runners (31 percent) at this Arlington meet. A win bet on every one of Good's runners this year would have produced a slight profit, but by restricting one's wagers to his debutants would have yielded a +$2.89 ROI. Rattlin Gypsy has posted good works and will receive Lasix for his first race.

Thursday, Arlington Race 10. Helen Pitts is known as a patient trainer and it thus should not be a surprise to see that her charges win 28 percent of the time when making their second start in a route. Her entrant Faith In Me showed little last time when running over a mile and a sixteenth but now adds blinkers and takes a drop in Class. The trainer stats alone make Faith In Me an intriguing play at 15/1 in the morning line.

Thursday, Churchill Race 5. Finding value wagering on runners from a high-profile and percentage barn such as Michael Maker's is hard. However,  his runners returning off a 90 day + layoff win at a 23 percent rate and boast a positive ROI. Here he saddles Tally Up who has not run since May 2008 but has worked well recently.

Thursday, Churchill Race 8. Anthony Reinstedler is another trainer whose runners excel off layoffs with 28 percent being successful for a ROI of +$0.66 returning between 46 and 90 days. Sweet Redeemer makes her first start here since mid-April and sports good works for this return. Her morning line odds of 15/1 are tempting.

Friday, Calder Race 7. Kirk Ziadie's runners have won at 28 percent for the year showing a negative ROI. However, his first-time starters, which have won at a 27 percent rate, have produced a positive ROI of +$0.28. Here he saddles Rock N Dirt for his debut who posted a recent bullet work.
