For more than 135 years, Fair Grounds Race Course has been a part of the cultural fabric of this wonderful city. With great pleasure, we offer our considerable experience, hospitality and unique facilities to make your occasion truly memorable.

Whether it’s a group for live racing or an evening party, Fair Grounds is the perfect setting to host your next event. Our strength is flexibility — we can provide settings that range from elegant to casual, reception-style to sit-down, with a view of the racetrack or downtown New Orleans.

For live racing, groups of 25 or more at Fair Grounds receive special pricing, which (except where noted) include Clubhouse admission, Clubhouse dining room seating, lunch, a race dedication for your group and a trophy presentation with complimentary photo.

Plate Lunches

(Groups may choose one entree. Lunches include dessert, iced tea and coffee.)

• Corned Beef & Cabbage - $23.00 - A Fair Grounds favorite! An 18-day process of cured brisket, served with red skin boiled potatoes and luncheon salad.
• Seafood Trifecta - $23.00 - Seafood gumbo served with steamed rice, crawfish etouffee in a flaky crust and seafood jambalaya and a luncheon salad.
• The Exacta - $23.00 - A grilled chicken breast with infused butter cream accompanied by a ramekin of crawfish etouffee served with vegetables and luncheon salad..
• Grilled Chicken Salad & Soup - $17.25 - Char-fired breast of chicken on top of fresh field greens with creamy house dressing and our chef’s special soup du jour.
• Club Croissant & Soup - $17.25 - Butter-layered croissant with smoked turkey, American cheese and bacon, served with chips, pickle and soup du jour.

Monday/Thursday Specials - Start the work week, or the racing week, with one of our specials!

(Groups may choose one entree. Lunches include dessert, iced tea and coffee.)

• Roasted Chicken Breast - $13.00 - Bone-in chicken quarted with lemon pepper bating sauce, served with rice pilaf sauté, stir-fry vegetable and luncheon salad.
• Red Beans & Rice - $13.00 - A New Orleans Monday tradition, served with steamed rice, smoked sausage and luncheon salad.

Parterre Box Packages

Fair Grounds’ most deluxe accommodations, offering a private suite for groups of between 20-40. Call our groups sales office for daily rental opportunities.

• Parterre Package A - $80 - Hors d’oeuvres package features cheese and vegetables tray, finger sandwiches, garlic chicken tenders, shrimp tray, grilled crawfish cakes and assorted snack mix. Includes admission, program and open bar (4 hours).
• Business Before Fun - The Black Gold Room at the Fair Grounds is the perfect place to hold a morning meeting before an afternoon of racing fun. This room is above our Slots Facility and no one under 21  may enter the building.

Event Extras

Make your Day at the Races better!

• Trophy Presentation - $75 - While groups of 25 already have a presentation included in their package, smaller groups can also celebrate their special occasion with a visit to the winner’s circle. Package includes group’s personalized race name listed in the program, up to eight guests escorted to the winner’s circle, announcement of the race name by the track announcer, trophy to be presented to the winning jockeys/owner/trainer and an 8x10 color photograph taken in the winner's circle of the groups to keep for a memento. Subject to availability.
• Wagering Vouchers - Treat your guests to a wager! Vouchers may be purchased in denominations of $2, $5, $10 and $20.
• Programs and Daily Racing Forms - Pre-Purchase race-day programs and Daily Racing Forms for your group. Contact groups sales for pricing.

Group Package Policies

Group prices and packages are for a minimum of 25 guests and are not available on Special Event dates (Thanksgiving Day, Louisiana Champions Day, "Road to the Derby" Kickoff Day, Louisiana Derby Preview Day, Louisiana Derby Day). Price and menu selections are subject to change.

• Clubhouse Dress Code: In the Clubhouse dining room, gentlemen are required to wear collared shirts and requested to wear jackets. No shorts, windsuits or sandals are allowed.
• Menu Selection: A guaranteed count on menu items must be provided 5 days prior to arrival .
• Deposit: A $100 deposit is requested at the time you confirm your group date. No date will be held until the deposit has been received. The balance of payment is due 5 days prior to arrival and is non-refundable.
• Refunds: Should your group have to cancel, please notify us at least 30 days prior to your event date for a refund.
• Ticketing: All groups will be pre-ticketed to avoid will call delays. Our group sales office will have your group’s tickets delivered to you in advance of your event date.
• Minimum Age Requirements: There is no minimum age for admission to live Fair Grounds races. The minimum age to wager on horse racing is 18, and the minimum age to play and enter the slots facility is 21.
• Seating Preferences: Seating preferences cannot be guaranteed. We will make every effort to accommodate your requests.
