Brian's Plays

  • Race 1 8-5-2

WISH KEEPER has been getting better with each start and runs for a tag first time with blinkers off for a sharp turf outfit with same rider aboard. SEAMSTRESS ran second the last two starts for the same tag and may get there today for a barn overdue for another victory. COAMING was runner-up going long at second asking and wide last time so the right trip could help this one get home first.

  • Race 2 8-1-3

CAT LORE finished well against similar last time on the grass and should be the logical play in the race running for a high percentage stable with go-to-rider in the saddle. ROBI JO still pulled thru for the win first time out with a slow break and wide coming out of the turn. Steps up against winners for the L. Jones stable who can have them ready in this spot as she may like the longer distance today. RUSTICANA could be a live longshot at 10-1 in morning line with two sharp seconds including last time out beaten a length and half behind a nice filly, Firehouse Red.

  • Race 3 3-6-7

TUFFY EM has early speed who won last time out for the same tag leading into the race lightly raced for a winning trainer/jockey combination. SASSYFROMTHEGITGO prefers to lay close who missed the break last time. Filly reunited with bug rider who rode her well in the past. WHY NOT POPS finished third best and competes second start over the track.

  • Race 4 8-9-11

TRIBUTE TO LIBERTY was beat only three lengths and makes a drop in maiden claiming tag to graduate today for his second start with the new stable. PALMER TOUR showed early speed last time out and may be sharper this time. MATIAS ran third last two out of three starts with no excuses. He try a shorter distance again after showing speed in his latest at route.

  • Race 5 6-9-1

DAPPLE DOWN showed some promise against maiden claimers for a similar tag first outing then ran over his head in a msw race. He gets a break in weight and may like the softer spot. WHO DAT FANS was second going long two starts back and didn't perform at all with a fast pace last time. Barn has been hot lately and may get there today with a better trip. BIGBANDIT did improve his position at the distance and may be tough from the rail with sharp rider going long.

  • Race 6 8-4-1

TAKE INTEREST is a daughter of More Than Ready who has looks ready second time out compared to her first start last summer. She has consistent and fast works competing for the Margolis barn who does well in this spot (26%). BARBADOS BEAUTY also returns off a long break for the leading stable who was beat last time at Saratoga as the favorite in a fast pace field and may be more mature for her 3yo debut. MILLE LUNA has a solid pedigree with sharp drills who will have to overcome the inside post, but could be fit and ready for a high percentage debut barn.

  • Race 7 2-11-7

BABY BWANA broke his maiden for $10k and has been facing tougher to be a contender this time with some class relief from a stable who has been winning races this meet. POWERED BY STEWIE runs first off the claim for Faucheux (40%) and showed plenty of ability last time to be a player again stalking the pace. MAGICAL RULER has front-running speed to be tough and may stick around for the gimmicks since he improved last time out.

  • Race 8 6-2-3

STARLITE STARBRITE is a horse for the course who has dangerous early speed and should like the turn back in distance. BOUQUET BOOTH may need race returning from a long break and seems to be better at longer distances. Classy filly has several fast published workouts and has been player in the exotics in dirt sprints. JOCATA won for the same tag last time when she circled the field in an all out performance. She returns fresh and always seems to show up in the end especially with a contested pace.

  • Race 9 8-3-7

SUNDAY MISSILE showed speed when the hood was added and could continue to improve running in the same spot with the same rider. BADJO BADJO BADJO looks like he belongs as he makes a minor drop in tag to get his picture taken first time. He sat close to the pace going long and now cuts back in distance to be the one to beat. GOT MELLO runs first off the claim for the Deville stable who wins at 16% and has some decent works to beat these. He may be sharper second start, which he will have to improve greatly to be a contender.

  • Race 10 6-7-3

GLAD TRIBUTE was second behind runaway winner who won by fourteen lengths in a very fast time going same distance as today and should lay close hoping for the right trip, but at short odds. BIG OIL'S REVENGE should be stalking the pace from the outside to keep up at a short distance and has a second for the same price two starts back. SHAPPA gets a rider switch for his third time out and may improve at a decent price for a capable trainer with a better draw.
