Next Tasting at the Track Set for Oct. 13
Fair Grounds continues its “Tastings at the Track” wine tasting series on Thursday, October 13, from 6 to 8 p.m., with the theme, "Robust Reds: Big Reds from Amarone to Zinfandel." Held in partnership with Dorignac’s Food Center, this reception-style tasting will feature quality wines that offer great bang for the buck!
The “Tastings" series concludes its 2011 run on November 17 from 6 to 9 p.m. with “A Bounty of Bubbles: From Champagne to Prosecco.” This festive reception-style tasting will feature more than 50 sensational sparkling wines from France, Spain, United States and Italy. The Yat Pack, the New Orleans based band that strives to bring back the Swing Era and its Las Vegas flair, will perform.
Held in the Fair Grounds 4th floor Clubhouse, "Tastings" will also feature a selection of gourmet cheeses, and other culinary delights, as well as wine experts who will answer wine-related questions. For more information, visit www.fairgroundsracecourse.com or call 504-948-1285. NOTE: Guests must be at least 21 years old to attend.
Tickets are $25 per person for October ($30 for Champagnes in November) and are available at Dorignac’s (710 Veterans Blvd in Metairie). If not sold out tickets will be available at the door.
Held in the Fair Grounds Clubhouse, the sampling also features a selection of gourmet cheeses and wine experts on hand to answer questions. For more information call 504-948-1285.
