Thanksgiving Reservations Available in Black Gold Room

Even though the Clubhouse is booked solid, it’s not too late to get a reservation for the famous Thanksgiving Dinner at Fair Grounds Race Course & Slots on Thursday, Nov. 26. For the first time, Fair Grounds will offer its Thanksgiving Dinner in the Black Gold Room, the private event space on the second floor of the Derby Building.
The complete list of offerings for the Thanksgiving Day buffet includes Herb-Roasted Turkey, Apricot-Glazed Pork Loin with Toasted Almonds, Corned Beef, Blackened Catfish with Crawfish Étoufée, Seafood Lasagna, Smothered Cabbage, Honey Ginger Carrots, Loaded Mashed Potatoes, Candied Yams, Cornbread Dressing, Green Bean Casserole and Butternut Squash, plus an assortment of fruits, cheeses and desserts.
Thanksgiving Day diners with reservations in the Black Gold Room will have access to all of the same amenities they are accustomed to in the Clubhouse, including a spacious dining room, large-screen televisions and wagering with either live mutuel tellers or self-service machines. Also, watch the races live from the open-air balcony, one of the best views available to our guests.
The recently refurbished Derby Room has been the site of parties such as New Orleans Magazine’s 2009 People to Watch, an elegant affair honoring notable professionals who left a mark on the city this year.
