'Tastings' Return March 31
Fair Grounds Race Course & Slots, located at 1751 Gentilly Blvd., kicks off the 2011 “Tastings at the Track” wine tasting series on Thursday, March 31 with an “Old World vs. New World” theme. Held in partnership with Dorignac’s Food Center, this reception-style tasting will feature more than 30 fine red and white wines from top “old world” (France, Italy, Spain, Germany) and “new world” (United States, Australia, Argentina, Chile, South Africa, New Zealand) producers for $25 per person.
The casual tasting is set for 6-8 p.m. in the Fair Grounds Clubhouse (fourth floor). Tickets are on sale at Dorignac’s (710 Veterans Blvd. in Metairie) and, if not sold out, will be available at the door.
The March 31 sampling also will feature a selection of gourmet cheeses and experts will answer wine-related questions. For more information call 504-948-1285.
The Tastings at the Track series will continue monthly throughout 2011. Continue to visit FairGroundsRaceCourse.com to learn about future dates and themes as they’re finalized.
Please note that all Tastings at the Track guests must be at least 21-years-old to attend.
