Sugar Baby Love Wins at FG Monday

NEW ORLEANS, La (January 12, 2009) - German-bred Sugar Baby Love pressed the early pace, took command approaching the lane and held rivals safe the rest of the way for a 1 1/2-length victory in Monday's $46,000 turf allowance feature at Fair Grounds.

Ridden by Robby Albarado, who scored his seventh win over the last two days, Sugar Baby Love returned $9.20, $3.60, and $3, toured the about 1 1/16-mile distance over a firm Stall-Wilson turf course in 1:46.81, and increased her career earnings to $120,934 with her third win from 11 lifetime starts.

Flaming Slew finished second, returning $4 and $3.20 and edging out third-place finisher Sarahlane'sdestiny, who paid $8.80 to show.

Nadeshiko made the pace with splits of 22.55 and 51.07 before tiring to finish seventh.

Racing resumes Thursday at Fair Grounds with a 10-race program beginning at 12:30 p.m.
