Reservations Line Open for Friday's AQHA Challenge Championships and Thoroughbred Meet
Make sure you’ll have a seat at the table for upcoming live racing days at Fair Grounds Race Course & Slots by securing reservations over the phone. Reservations for Clubhouse dining and box seats are being taken at (504) 943-2200 or 1-800-262-7983.
Reservations for Clubhouse Dining on Thanksgiving Day are sold out. However, prime tables remain available for Friday, Saturday and Sunday of Opening Weekend, as well as for other dates throughout the 139th Thoroughbred Racing Season. Clubhouse admission without a dining table will still be available at the door on Thanksgiving Day and General Admission will be free and plentiful.
Key upcoming race dates include the one-night-only Bank of America Challenge Championships for American Quarter Horses (which doubles as the fall’s first Starlight Racing event) on Friday, Opening Day of the 139th Thoroughbred Racing Season on Nov. 25 (Thanksgiving Day, with an early first post of 11 a.m. to accommodate Saints fans) and Louisiana Champions Day on Dec. 11.
Reservations for Louisiana Derby Day on March 26 will not be accepted until January 3.
Four Starlight Racing dates during the Thoroughbred Racing Season also are expected to sell out in advance: Dec. 17, Jan. 21, Feb. 18 and March 18.
Clubhouse admission is $7, except for Starlight Racing nights, when it is $10. General admission to the Grandstand is always free.
Reserved box seats are available every live racing day for $20 per box in the Grandstand or $30 in the Clubhouse ($75 for Challenge Championships). Each box seats six and the price includes admission.
The 84-day Thoroughbred Racing Season will run Thursdays to Mondays through February and Fridays to Mondays in March, except on Nov. 29, Dec. 24 (Christmas Eve) and Dec. 25 (Christmas Day). Live racing also will be conducted on Dec. 22 and March 8 (Mardi Gras Day).
First post is set for 12:40 p.m. Central Standard Time (CST) daily, except on Opening Day (Nov. 25; first post is 11 a.m.), graded stakes days (Jan. 22, Feb. 19 and March 26; first post is 12:10 p.m.) and Starlight Racing nights (Dec. 17, Jan. 21, Feb. 18 and March 18; first post is 5 p.m.).
