'Lafeet' Taps Tally in FG Feature; Perrodin Reaches 2,999

NEW ORLEANS, La. (December 4, 2008) -John Wieczorek's Shytoe Lafeet justified his favoritism with a 2 1/4-length win in the $50,000 allowance feature Thursday at Fair Grounds.

Ridden by Gabriel Saez and trained by Larry Jones, Shytoe Lafeet returned $5.80, $3.20 and $2.20 while accomplishing the 1 1/16 miles over a Stall-Wilson turf course listed as "good" in 1:48.01.  The winner increased his career earnings to $301,123 with his sixth career win.

You Dancing Devil finished second, paying $4.40 and $3 while a neck in front of Cat Hop, who returned $3.40.  Whisper to Me set early fractions of :25.38 and :51.73 before tiring to finish sixth and last.

Later in the card, Louisiana-born jockey E.J. Perrodin moved to the cusp of the 3,000-win milestone with win number 2,999 aboard K Otee.  Perrodin is scheduled for two mounts on Friday's 10-race program.
