Lady Chace Wins Thursday FG Feature

NEW ORLEANS, La. (February 12, 2009) - Gold Square LLC's Lady Chace, in command just after the start, made every pole a winning one and drew off late to win Thursday's featured $48,000 sprint at Fair Grounds by 5 1/ 2 lengths.

The sprint, originally carded for the grass as a prep for next month's $75,000 Bienville Stakes, was taken off the lawn following recent rains and run on the main track but Lady Chace had no trouble with the switch.

Lady Chace, a daughter of Tiznow, ticked off early splits of 22.30 and 45.84 on her way to a final clocking of 1:04.26, and paid $4.20, $2.60 and $2.40.  She increased her career earnings to $127,453 while winning for the fourth time in 11 career starts.  Jockey John Jacinto rode the Steve Margolis trainee.

Coy Cat, second choice in the wagering, was clearly second best, returning $3.20 and $2.20 while finishing two lengths to the good of Judy's Light, who paid $3.60.

Racing resumes Friday at Fair Grounds with a 10-race program beginning at 12:30 p.m.
