Just Jenda, Four Gifts Meet Again in Silverbulletday

NEW ORLEANS, La. (February 2, 2009) - Cindy Jones' Just Jenda and Heiligbrodt Racing Stable's Four Gifts will face off for the third time in nine weeks as they lead a field of eight 3-year-old fillies in the $150,000 Grade III Silverbulletday Stakes Saturday at Fair Grounds.

The Silverbulletday, which serves as the final local prep for the Grade II Fair Grounds Oaks on March 14, is the eighth race on Saturday's six-stakes Louisiana Derby Preview Day card, with post time scheduled for 3:55 p.m. CST. It will precede the $200,000 Grade III Risen Star Stakes and serve as the opening leg of a special 3-year-old double wager.

Just Jenda and Four Gifts first met in the Grade III Delta Princess on Dec. 5 at Delta Downs, where Four Gifts scored a 2 1/4-length win and Just Jenda finished fifth. Five weeks later in the Tiffany Lass Stakes at Fair Grounds, Just Jenda turned the tables with a 1 3/4-length triumph, with Four Gifts finishing third.

Just Jenda, a daughter of Menifee trained by Cindy Jones' husband Larry, drew post No. 7 for the Silverbulletday and is the 2-1 morning-line favorite. She is 3-for-4 lifetime and will again be ridden by Terry Thompson.

Four Gifts, the early 3-1 second choice, is trained by Eclipse Award winner Steve Asmussen. Six-time Fair Grounds leading rider Robby Albarado will break the daughter of Even the Score from the rail.

The top contender past the two morning-line picks likely is War Echo, who also hails from the Asmussen stable. She will make her 3-year-old debut after a pair of starts in graded company to end her juvenile campaign, finishing second in the Grade II Golden Rod on Nov. 29 at Churchill Downs and fourth in the Grade I Frizette in October at Belmont Park.

From the rail out with jockeys, the Silverbulletday field consists of Four Gifts, Albarado; More of the Best, Jesus Castanon; War Echo, Shaun Bridgmohan; Flying Spur, Patrick Valenzuela; Garter Belt, Corey Lanerie; Southern Yankee, Gabriel Saez; Just Jenda, Thompson, and War Tigress, Brian Hernandez Jr.

First post on Saturday is 12:30 p.m. CST.
