House of Words Wins Friday Feature at FG

NEW ORLEANS, La. (March 20, 2009) - Gale Springer's House of Words rallied boldly in the final strides and got up to be best by a head in the featured $44,000 turf allowance sprint Friday at Fair Grounds

Trained by Bobby Springer and ridden by James Graham, House of Words paid $7.60, $3.60 and $2.80. He toured the about 5 1/2 furlongs over the Stall-Wilson turf course in 1:04.61 and increased his career earnings to $71,860 with his second victory in 16 lifetime starts.

Charming Assassin was second, returning $5.20 and $3.40, while finishing 1 3/4 lengths in front of Royalinsky, who paid $6 to show.

Fortunate Jett recorded early splits of 22.39 and 46.77 before weakening to fifth at the wire.

Racing resumes Saturday at Fair Grounds on the penultimate weekend of the track's 137th racing season with an 11-race program. First post is 12:35 p.m. CDT.
