Goldilox Gets the Gold in Sunday Feature

Naveed Chowhan’s Goldilox, a sophomore filly ridden by Victor Lebron and trained by Bernie Flint, rallied in the late stages of Sunday’s $45,000 Fair Grounds feature at about 5 1/2-furlongs over the Stall-Wilson turf course to capture the sprint for fillies and mares by a half-length.

In the process, the daughter of Tapit more than doubled her career earnings to $40,860 with her second win in three career starts, paid mutuels of $9.60, $5.40 and $3 and accomplished the distance in 1:05.45.

Diamond A Racing Corporation’s Ford Gallop got up for second, besting Elm Tree Farm’s Better Than Swiss by a nose.  Ford Gallop returned $5.40 and $3 while Better Than Swiss paid $3

Hinkle Farms’ Kicken Vixen set the early pace with splits of 23.09 and 46.72 before tiring to finish eighth.

Racing resumes Friday at Fair Grounds with a nine-race program with a first post of 1 p.m.
