Fair Grounds To Change Tote Providers Next Week
NEW ORLEANS, La (September 25, 2008) - Fair Grounds customers will see significant changes in the way they place wagers when the track changes tote providers from SciGames to AmTote on Tuesday.
The change not only impacts wagers made on-track, but at Fair Grounds' nine off-track betting parlors in southeast Louisiana and its advance deposit wagering platform.
"Our customers and our employees will have brand new tote equipment from which to place wagers at all our facilities," said Fair Grounds assistant general manager Ed Fenasci.
In conjunction with this change, Fair Grounds Phone Bet and FGNetBet.com will also change providers to TwinSpires.com. Fair Grounds account holders are receiving new TwinSpires.com cards this week.
"When we first offered account wagering at Fair Grounds in 2000, we thought it was very important to have a seamless, one-account, one-card process," Fenasci said. "That remains unchanged, and now we add to the mix many innovative features offered by TwinSpires.com, including EZMoney account funding, TwinSpiresTV, conditional wagering, stable alerts, free Brisnet Ultimate past performances, and promotions and contests like the TwinSpires Leaderboard, the Handicapping Open and the Biggest Vegas Qualifier Ever."
As a result of the tote conversion, all Fair Grounds facilities will close for wagering at approximately 11 p.m. on Monday, and only four Fair Grounds OTB facilities will be available for wagering on Tuesday - Elmwood, Gretna, Houma and Metairie.
Fair Grounds and the other Fair Grounds OTB facilities will re-open for wagering on Wednesday.
