Fair Grounds Re-Launches Web Site

NEW ORLEANS, La. (June 4, 2008) - Fair Grounds' official Web site was re-launched Wednesday. The redesigned Web site is now available at www.fairgroundsracecourse.com.

The new Web site provides information to all segments of Fair Grounds' customer base - serious players, casual fans and slots and video poker enthusiasts.

Visitors will find an expanded information archive divided into four convenient categories based on his or her preference - "Slots" for updates on the current and future slot-machine gaming facilities, "Racing" for on-track information, "Top Stories" for the latest news, and "Horsemen" for condition books, claims, workout times and much more. The site is easily navigated between sections using tabs at the top of each page. The site's home page "remembers" which category the user last visited and will make that page the user's preferred homepage.

The new fairgroundsracecourse.com includes pages dedicated to each of the nine off-track betting locations in southeast Louisiana, as well as a section devoted to the track's temporary slot-machine gaming facility and updates on the permanent slots facility, which will open later this year.

The new site also includes expanded video features designed to complement daily news and on-track activity, as well as exclusive analysis videos, interviews, and links to an online race replay archive at www.youtube.com/cdi. Content from www.brisnet.com is being integrated into Fair Grounds' "virtual tote board," which will provide up-to-the-minute racing information when racing returns to New Orleans later this year. At the heart of the redesign is a clean, fresh look that presents Fair Grounds' news and racing information in an easy-to-read fashion, and includes hundreds of images from the track's vast photography archives.

"The new fairgroundsracecourse.com Web site allows us to expand our relationship with fans well beyond the physical boundaries of the track and OTB network while dramatically improving the quality of information available to the serious handicapper and the general sporting enthusiast alike," said Fair Grounds President Randy Soth. "Replays from youtube.com, online blogs, in-depth racing and gaming information - it's all there."

"We're delighted to offer this redesigned Web site to Fair Grounds fans," said Jeremy Borseth, senior director of channel services and Internet operations for Churchill Downs Incorporated. "Fairgroundsracecourse.com has always been a huge information repository and an excellent online resource, so we've focused on giving our visitors an outstanding experience through a fresh new design that allows for easier navigation and a smooth, user-friendly online experience. We hope that our fans will take some time to explore the new offerings on the site."

Other new features on the redesigned www.fairgroundsracecourse.com include a special area dedicated to simulcasting information, an expanded events calendar, blogs, and new "QuickLinks" technology, which enables a visitor to create a list of his or her own favorite pages, bookmark-style, on the homepage of the Fair Grounds Web site itself. The site's home page also "remembers" what content a visitor has recently looked at and will automatically present similar content upon subsequent visits to the Web site. New sections will debut in the coming weeks, including social networking links, widgets, mobile features, and the ability for visitors to share handicapping information and wagering tips.
