A. P. Answer Wins Friday Fair Grounds Feature

NEW ORLEANS, La. (February 13, 2009) - J S Cubed's A. P. Answer withstood a late challenge from Catch the Luck to win Friday's $44,000 turf allowance feature at Fair Grounds by three-quarters of a length.

Ridden by Corey Lanerie, who posted a riding double for the third consecutive program, A. P. Answer paid $19.60, $5.40 and $3.60. He covered about 1 1/16 miles in 1:46.01 over a Stall-Wilson turf course rated good and increased his career earnings to $63,945 with his second victory in 12 lifetime starts.

Catch the Luck was clearly second best, returning $4 and $2.80 while finishing 1 1/2 lengths in front of Lemon Drop Magic, who paid $3.40.

Racing resumes Saturday at Fair Grounds with a 10-race program beginning at 12:30 p.m. The $60,000 Chou Croute Handicap for older fillies and mares is the feature.

Fair Grounds Race Course & Slots, the nation's third-oldest Thoroughbred racing facility, has been in operation since 1872.
