Analysis
Analysis:
After finishing behind eventual graded stakes winners more than once last year, #6 I COME FROM BEHIND makes only his second start of 2009 getting back around two turns after a 6 furlong race at Keenland last month. #1A ARCODORO, scheduled to make his first start outside of SoCal and his first on the regular dirt, is likely the one to catch. #5 SHOW THE WAY races off of a sharp bullet work over the main track after some near misses over the Woodbine turf course.
Analysis:
#2 SILVER PRODUCTION is hard to trust for the win as she tends to run 2nd a 3rd and has a 2-30 record, but she’s in good current form and a repeat of her last two races could be good enough in here. #4 WILDLY WICKED is no easier to trust, also seeking two in a row off of a nice win at Delta, but that was only 9 days ago. #1A MISS ACAPULCO is another who is hard to back with any real conviction as she also tends to fill out the exotics and she is possibly not at her best over the FG track.
Analysis:
#7 TOSS FOR CASH likes to win his races wire to wire so was out of luck in his last with the presence of gate to wire winner Cowboy Poker who he chased gamely before giving it up in the stretch. #2 KING OF MARDI GRAS is an 18 time winner with a good FG record. #4 KNOX COUNTY makes his first start since Charles Town for new owner/trainer Eric Heitzmann.
Analysis:
#3 MAD AND ROYAL gets back in with state-breds and returns to the scene of his last win. #6 JOE’S MAJESTY makes his first start in four months after a couple of 3rd place finishes most recently behind the on-a-roll High Toned who was his stablemate at the time and was racing off of a stakes win. #2 J R CRUISER is another who looks very live but he may not be able to handle the top two.
Analysis:
#1 MOONSTRUCK BERTIE is on the triple drop but did start her career in claimers so is likely where she needs to be to win after a couple of even efforts against tougher. #2 TRUE BLUE EYES ran a game 2nd in a NL3 here 12 days ago, so now she drops into her proper N2L but that was a career best last time out and her first start in 4 months so the dreaded bounce is a real concern. #4 WAY TOO HIGH looks like the quickest of the speed runners in here but the question is will she be able to hold on while stretching out in distance today.
Analysis:
With loads of front-running speed in here the entry of #1A FORTHEBOYSATTHEBAR and #1 KINDLING looks like they will get the perfect pace scenario, no matter which runs or both if both end up running, note that Curt Bourque is listed on both. #7 SHE’S YUMMY ran her best races here last season over the grass course and has good ratable speed which should prove useful. #4 SALTY WAVE may be out front but figures to get a good amount of pace pressure today.
Analysis:
#6 CEE BAILEY ZOOM is undefeated and now makes his first start for new owner/trainer Cody Autrey. #9 WALKINPICTURE can be completely forgiven for his last as it was too tough, the wrong distance and the wrong surface, but probably a nice prep for today. #10 TAYLORTOWN drops in for a tag and gets back on the dirt.
Analysis:
#8 BUCKETS ‘N’ PANS was claimed back by these connections and note that he hasn’t won since being taken last year. #4 LITE THE CIGAR should appreciate getting back on the FG grass today where he ran his best races last year. #7 PETEADORIS is another who ran some game races here last season, twice finishing in back of LITE THE CIGAR, and today will be stepping back up into allowance company off of two 6 furlong works.
Analysis:
Four of these come out of the same race on opening day that was won by the impressive Speedacious, and all four ran well that day. #12 GOOD HUMAN BEAN did miss as the favorite but was only just passed for 2nd late in the stretch after a wide trip and after futility chasing the drawing off winner. She unfortunately draws widest again today. #5 GIRLIE GO is a new comer today who has only had one even effort over the Delta track. She’s first crop Lydgate but her dam, Rosie City, is also the dam of the multiple state-bred stakes winner, Equestrian Girls. #9 DAWN’S TRIBUTE ran evenly and rather gamely at 78-1 in the Speedacious race. She could improve today and figures to be overlooked in this deep field.
