"Horse Talk Happy Hours" Coming to Five Fair Grounds OTB Locations on Thursdays This Fall

NEW ORLEANS (Monday, September 17, 2012) – Racing fans, handicappers and track executives will get to mix and mingle in a casual atmosphere during “Horse Talk Happy Hour” sessions presented by Fair Grounds Race Course & Slots this fall at five OTB parlors throughout Southeast Louisiana.
Horse Talk Happy Hours will be held on five consecutive Thursday evenings, from 6-7 p.m., starting Oct.18. Dates and locations are as follows:
October 18 – Elmwood OTB Casino (5428 Citrus Blvd., next to The Palace; 504-818-1080)
October 25 – Metairie OTB Casino (2700 Edenborn Ave., behind Lowe’s; 504-454-3077)
November 1 – Covington OTB (#1 Hollycrest Plaza, U.S. Hwy 190 North; 985-898-0080)
November 8 – Gretna OTB Casino (64A Westbank Expwy., near Stumpf; 504-364-1177)
November 15 – Kenner OTB Casino (1700 Joe Yenni Blvd., near Williams; 504-466-8525)
Fans can ask questions related to Fair Grounds or TSC Elite operations, get expert handicapping advice or even split a ticket with The Biscuit.
Members of Fair Grounds’ racing, publicity and mutuels staff will be on hand at each Happy Hour, including general manager Eric Halstrom, racing secretary Jason Boulet, communications and pari-mutuel marketing manager Jim Mulvihill, mutuels assistant and online handicapper Brian “Kohnbiscuit” Kohn and handicapper Gary Palmisano Jr., as well as local OTB managers.
Happy hour specials will be in effect all evening and the Horse Talk crew will give away prizes for picking winners in designated simulcast races.
Prizes include Fair Grounds merchandise, Kentucky Derby photographs autographed by winning horsemen, passes for the Louisiana Derby and Starlight Racing and more!
