Dashin Forward Posts Fastest Time in LQHBA Sales Futurity Trials on Opening Day
Joseph Landreneau’s Dashin Forward, ridden by Jarrod Deschamp for new trainer Kelli Smith, posted the fastest qualifying time of 17.349 in nine 350-yard trial races for the Louisiana Quarter Horse Breeders Association Sales Futurity at Fair Grounds Race Course & Slots. The top 10 fastest Louisiana-bred juveniles from today’s trials qualified for the Sept. 1 Final, which will carry an estimated purse of $150,000.
Finishers 11 through 20 (as ranked by final time) earned automatic berths to the $50,000 LQHBA Sales Invitational, also on Closing Day, Sept. 1.
Trainer Heath Taylor qualified two horses for the final – Logans Mountain and Streakin Ellen. Both were ridden by John Hamilton.
