Black Gold Stakes
The Black Gold Stakes is for 3 year olds racing 7 and 1/2 Furlongs on the Turf Course for $75,000. The 2012 edition was captured by Larry Jones' Icon Ike for owners Flethcer and Carolyn Gray and jockey Rosie Napravnik. The race also featured eventual Louisiana Derby winner Hero of Order.

The co-feature on today's card is the $75,000 Allen LaCombe Memorial Stakes for 3 year old fillies on the Turf. Last year, Elaine, Richard, and Bertram Klein's Miz Ida surged to the front under Shaun Bridgmohan to impressively win the race for trainer Steve Margolis.
