Gentilly Stakes

The best three-year old Louisiana Breds tackle the Turf for $60,000 in the 31st running of the Gentilly Stakes. Look at the Time burst on to the racing scene with his dominant win in this race last year for trainer Wes Hawley and jockey Corey Lanerie.

  • Bayou Handicap

    The 45th running of the Bayou Handicap will feature older filles and mares on the Turf course for $75,000. Ken and Sarah Ramsey's Artemus Kitten made a middle move and held off late challenegers to capture this race last season for jockey Rosie Napravnik.

  • Fair Grounds Handicap

    The Fair Grounds Handicap is a Grade III stakes race for the top older turf horses in the country and offers a $150,000 purse. Kentucky Derby winning trainer, H. Graham Motion shipped in Smart Bid to capture last year's running for Augustin Stables and jockey Edgar Prado.

  • Rachel Alexandra Stakes

    The nation's top three-year old fillies will be vying for critical Kentucky Oaks points in the Grade III $200,000 Rachel Alexandra Stakes. Robby Albarado guided Summer Applause to win the 2012 edition for trainer Bret Calhoun.

  • Risen Star Stakes

    Much like the filles, three-year old colts and geldings will be looking to climb the Kentucky Derby points ladder in the Risen Star stakes, a Grade II with a purse of $400,000. Kentucky Derby winning trainer Todd Pletcher's El Padrino shipped in from Florida and defeated the locally trained Mark Veleski.

  • Louisiana Derby Preview Day

    Horse Racing's rising stars will be on display as the top three-year olds contend for valuable Kentucky Oaks and Kentucky Derby points. Louisiana Derby Preview Day will feature 6 stakes races, of which 4 are graded, including the $400,000 Risen Star Stakes. There will also be numerous events for all members of the family.
