Well at least we picked the winner on top. An 8-5 favorite, sure, but at this point we need all the winners we can get on the tip sheet as we slowly inch our percentage back up to respectability.
Star Guitar ran like the public expected him to, racing a few lengths in behind the leaders down the backstretch. Around the turn he inched closer, and into the stretch ducked down the rail. For a while it didn't look like he was going to get up as longshot Mr. Barracuda refused to yield, but the people's choice battled on and did get up before the wire.
It wasn't a horrible day at the windows, but I still hope any of you reading this out there had more success than I did.
