Brisnet Look at the Arlington Million stakes!
The BRIS Early Pace Ratings confirm what handicappers know. PRESIOUS PASSION is the controlling, lone speed in the featured Arlington Million on Saturday. If you look at the Track Bias Race Summary found on the Ultimate PPs, you will see average early pace ratings of 119/121 for this talented and underrated runner. No one is even remotely closely. The question is will he return to the field.
EINSTEIN (BRZ) comes off a brutal trip in the Stephen Foster H. (watch the replay at TwinSpires TV) yet was only defeated one length for all the money. He is a multiple Grade 1 winner on the lawn and must be respected with Leparoux in the irons for trainer Helen Pitts.
The three Europeans all have respectable BRIS Foreign Class Ratings which measure the quality of the competition overseas. Honestly I find it very hard to separate them. I would be surprised if at least one of these imports did not make their presence felt in the race.
MR. SIDNEY comes off a strong worktab in upstate New York which earned him "Clocker's Special" status on the BRIS Insider Picks & Power Plays. Click the link to take advantage of this free giveaway for Saturday via the Brisnet Blog!
In race 7 the G1 Secretariat it looks like a wide open race. Although not a confirmed frontrunner by any means TAKE THE POINTS stands out on the BRIS Early Pace Ratings in much the same manner as Presious Passion. However, he has yet to win on the grass so one must demand value in this situation. Take The Points is 9/2 on the morning line which would be a very good price for a pace play standout.
One runner that looks intriguing is DRIVING SNOW for underrated trainer Darrin Miller. This well bred three year old has yet to run a bad race and is bred for longer distances. If he handles the stretchout, he could prove to be a force in this spot and at big odds. Fernando Jara is aboard. I will bet him across the board if he is anywhere near his morning line odds.
In race 8 the G1 BEVERLY D. the European invaders ALNADANA and MAD ABOUT YOU are 1-2 on the BRIS Class Ratings and that makes them the ones to beat in this prestigious race. I would personally play against BLACK MAMBA for her tendency to place more often than she wins and she will be overbet with Gomez in the irons off a recent score at Hollywood.
DIXIE BAND is a standout on the potent BRIS Prime Power Rating in the Spectacular Bid, race 11. He will have to fend off undefeated Italian import FANTASTIC ROBERTO for trainer Todd Pletcher and the shrewd Team Valor stable.
Finally, don't leave the track early. One of the best wagering races of the day is the finale, race 12. This is a wide open affair with a beatable favorite who is 0 for 4 at the distance and faces other pace pressure. The dime superfecta or $.50 trifecta could pay very handsomely to end the always-fabulous Arlington Million card.

Wager on the Arlington Million at TwinSpires.com. TwinSpires Players who wager at least $100 on Saturday's Arlington Million card from Arlington Park, will be entered into a random drawing where one lucky Player will take home 1,000,000 Twin Spires Club Points.
